Julian has been working in the construction and building industry for the last 20 years, gaining experience across many core trades and disciplines. As Managing Director he started and developed a building company that ran successfully for nine years, completing many projects in refurbishment and construction. He also established a rental management business focussed on servicing the needs of home owners working overseas. Julian has since gone on to apply his skills in the investment property business. High quality refurbishment has been a hallmark of this endeavour.
Architect, Design & Build Solutions
Ipeng is a Founder Member of Southwark Habitat for Humanity, a housing charity that works with individual and corporate volunteers to build and renovate homes. He was a Partner of a large multi-disciplinary consultancy practice for many years before joining a new architectural practice as a director. He is involved in the design and construction of a range of building types for clients from a large variety of sectors. His experience includes working in collaboration with his clients to unlock development potential of sites and property through innovative design and construction methodology. He has worked with many community groups and housing providers to regenerate inner-city urban areas and housing estates.
Community Development & Solutions Consultant
Simon Thomas is also a Co-Founder of Habitat for Humanity and has worked in various community training and social environments settings across the UK, working to provide practical solutions to enhance community and family cohesion. His 25 years of housing development experience at all levels enables him to support clients develop their overall vision as well as their financial and strategic feasibility. He has recently developed a global network with the ethos: “Gathering people, re-imagining cities and creating change“, designed to generate innovative thinking across a wide range of sectors and spheres of life (www.citytocity.org).
Project Manager and Development Consultant
Richard has worked in housing construction and housing management for over 20 years. One of these roles was as Construction Manager for Berkeley Homes, who were awarded Housebuilder of the Year in 2015. In 2014, they won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise and in 2015 they were the first house-builder in Britain to have 500 sites registered by the Considerate Constructors Scheme. He has also worked for ISG, a global construction services company delivering robust and future-proofed buildings that help people and businesses thrive. Richard is also a community practitioner and leader on The Bear project (who we are partnering with on the upcoming Deptford development).
