We are currently partnering with various church and community organisations on a number of housing projects across London. We are excited to see the company move forward in this way,  taking Jubilee’s vision of sustainability and implementing it in the community context. In the next few years we hope to see an increasing number of long-term rental opportunities built and established alongside innovative community projects.

We have recently completed two cottage-style houses in Kent on land owned by a church partner. Our aim is that some income from the sales of these houses can be recycled into the regeneration of other community facilities and housing already used by the church. There is already a fantastic community thriving in this area and we hope that these houses will help strengthen and sustain this community work.

 

Endlesham Hall have a vision to redevelop the site and invest in the future of their community by creating a new hall that is fit for the 21st century, and be environmentally and financially sustainable. In addition, they also want to respond to demands for more affordable housing accommodation for local people.

The ambition of the New Endlesham Hall is the creation of a vibrant and successful community that has a distinct local character. The proposal is an innovative model of combining affordable residential accommodation with supportive church and community use.

It is a vision that has ‘grown’ out of an established and socially active organisation, already linked to many local community projects and trusts.

It is to be a safe and attractive place to live, form supportive friendships and discover new opportunities for personal development.

It will exploit the potential of the site by a development of mixed-used accommodation, with high quality shared amenity spaces and accessible by the public, through the management of the premises.

The aspiration is to create a legacy for future generations by building a new Endlesham Hall that is a versatile and vibrant hub that facilitates the community work of local groups and individuals with a focus on education, young people, children and families, wellbeing, sustainability, green space and the creative arts.

The Deptford Ragged Trust (TDRT) is a church and community organisation that has been working in Deptford for the past 25 years. They run local events, art projects, TESL courses, a homeless charity (Bench) as well as working with regular stall holders at Deptford Market. TDRT wants to expand its’ facilities to include affordable housing that will help ease some of the need for low-cost housing in Lewisham. Lewisham Council is supportive of the scheme and keen to partner with Jubilee and TDRT to achieve an innovative housing and community solution for the area that is both sustainable and affordable. The project is currently at pre-app stage and we hope to be on site by March 2020.

We completed this development of a church hall and nine flats in May 2018. It was an exciting opportunity to build accommodation alongside a community facility in a popular and and fast-developing London location. The timely project completion and successful sale of the properties allowed some finance to be recycled into Jubilee’s next affordable housing scheme.
